HOW TO Become a member

Our membership fees run on a sliding scale based on need and circumstance. We believe that people will do the right thing, which means you are free to choose how much you would like to pay and do not need to provide proof or explanation. Below are some guidelines to help you decide what an appropriate membership fee might be for you. As an unique individual, you will likely not fit “neatly” into one category, so choose the category that best describes your situation.

Per Year

I am comfortably able to meet all my basic needs*, and often have extra resources left over
My financial situation allows me to pay more so that I can support or subsidize others who would like to join Swim Wild Squamish too!

Per Year

I am comfortably able to meet all my basic needs*
I have solid, reliable housing
I have expendable income for recreation
I am employed or choose not to work full time to meet my basic needs

$35

Per Year

I sometimes stress about meeting my basic needs*, but still regularly achieve them
I have a stable rental property
I have some expendable income
I am employed

$30

Per Year

I frequently stress about meeting my basic needs* and don’t always achieve them
I rent lower-end properties or I have unstable housing
I have no or very limited expendable income
I am un- or under-employed

* Basic needs refers to food, shelter, transportation. No one will be turned away based on financial circumstances. If you don't see a category that describes your situation, please reach out to us directly at info@swimwildsquamish.com to discuss additional options

To pay your membership, send an e-transfer to info@swimwildsquamish.com in the amount that feels appropriate for you (see guidelines above). If you do not have access to online banking, get in touch with us and we can arrange other options.

Memberships purchased before May 22, 2021 will expire May 21, 2022. All other memberships will expire one calendar year from their activation date.

This last step is a manual process and is completed entirely by volunteers, so may take up to 48 hours. Once we’ve received your membership details, waiver, and payment, we’ll activate your online account and send you all the next steps. From here, you’ll be able to sign up for group swims, and have access to all the other membership perks. If you don’t receive this email within 48 hours, check your spam or get in touch with us.
